September 2020 Readathons + TBRs

August 25, 2020 Comments : 4

Hello everybody. In the month of September, I will be participating in three readathons. Below you will find all the relevant info and links for the three readathons, as well as my TBR (my To Be Read books) for each. Now, I know that my TBR for September is a little over ambitious. If we count the books for all three readathons, that’s a total of 21 books that I will be attempting to read in September. I might not be able to read all 21 books (okay, who am I kidding, I probably won’t be able to read all 21 books) but my goal for September is just to read as much as I can, and have fun. And that’s because I will actually be taking some time off my regular schedule in September, which gives me plenty of free time for reading. Plus, with all these exciting readathons happening, I just feel really motivated to read.

All-new Destinations

Since I haven’t read these books yet and since I like to go into my books without knowing too much about them, I won’t be talking about each book in this post. I will however be posting a reading wrap-up either at the end of the September or during the first week of October, where I’ll share my thoughts with you on all the books that I end up reading for these readathons. That being said, let’s take a look at the readathons:

1. A Touch of Whimsy: Adventures Through Wonderland

Hashtag(s): #ATouchofWhimsyReadathon #AdventuresThroughWonderland

2. Demonathon: The Grand Hotel

Hosted by: S. Yumi at Yumi The Book Demon

Theme: For this readathon, you are playing the role of a demon summoner who has to complete a bunch of reading challenges in order to successfully summon a demon. So to participate in this readathon, you must go to the Grand Hotel website, where you will get instructions on how to summon your demon and how to complete your contract with your demon. In short, to successfully summon your demon, you need to complete a few reading challenges. To find out what the reading challenges are though, you must explore the different rooms of the Grand Hotel (the website is interactive and contains different rooms for you to visit). Each room of the hotel contains a secret reading prompt, as well as a password that you will need in order to proceed to the next room. Once you’ve made your way through the rooms, collecting along the way the passwords to the other rooms as well as the secret reading prompts, you will be able to start the reading challenge.

Duration: 1st-30th of September

Hashtag(s): #demonathon

Group read: Dead Air by Nino Cipri (this is a short story that you can read for free here)

Check out the host(s) announcement videos for more details: S.Yumi’s video

About the prompts: Since participants must explore the different rooms of the Grand Hotel to discover the secret reading prompts, I won’t be telling you what the reading prompts for this readathon are. I’m only going to tell you which book I plan to read for each room’s prompt, without telling you what the actual prompt is. When I do my reading wrap-up at the end of September though, I will include the reading prompts in my post.

The books that I plan to read for this readathon:

Beige and Black Minimal General Table of Contents

Note: If you’re planning to participate in this readathon, there is also a giveaway that you can enter, as well as some extra challenges that you can do in addition to the reading challenges. Check out the announcement video for more details.

3. Sequel September

Hosted by: Lauren at Me My Books And Food

Theme: The goal of this readathon is to catch up on the different book series that you’re currently in the middle of, by reading as many sequels as you can throughout the month of September.

Duration: 1st-30th of September

Check out the host(s) announcement videos for more details: Lauren’s video

The reading prompts and the books that I plan to read for this readathon:

Beige and Black Minimal General Table of Contents (1)

Note: For this readathon, you don’t actually have to complete all 10 reading prompts. It’s up to you to choose how many of the prompts you want to complete. Let’s see how many of these books I actually end up finishing ^^
