Hello everybody! 2019 is finally here and to kick-off this year’s blog posts, I thought I’d share with you some of my most anticipated new book releases of 2019. Since this list is quite a lengthy one, especially with new titles constantly being announced, I thought I would split this list into quarterlies. For today, we’ll be looking at books that will be released in the January to March period. And then, sometime in April, I’ll post another article about the new book releases for the next quarter of the year.
Now, since we all read different things and love a diverse array of authors and genres, it is likely that this list may exclude books that you are excited for. So, if there’s a book coming out in the January-March 2019 period that you would like to add to this list, feel free to let me know down in the comments below.
With that being said, let’s get started with the books 😀
1. The Wicked King by Holly Black (Book #2 in the Folk of the Air series)
Publication date: 8th January 2019
The Wicked King is the sequel to The Cruel Prince, which came out in 2018. Since this is a sequel, I cannot tell you much about the plot without spoiling the first book. For those of you who are not familiar with this series though, The Cruel Prince follows the story of Jude, a human girl who was raised by the fey. When Jude was a child, her parents were killed, murdered right in front of her eyes, after which she along with her sisters were taken in by the fey to be raised in the Court of Faerie. Now, ten years later, in an attempt to fit in among the fey and prove to them that she belongs in their court, Jude decides to cross swords with Prince Cardan, youngest among the sons of the High King, but also the wickedest. 2. The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi (Book #1 in the Gilded Wolves series)
Publication date: 15th January 2019
The story is set in an alternative version of 1889 Paris. Séverin Montagnet-Alarie is a rich hotelier whose interests also include treasure-hunting. One day he gets an offer to track down a unique treasure. An artifact that holds a deep personal connection to him and which represents his inheritance. But since he cannot track down this artifact by himself, he decides to assemble a team of experts. An engineer, a historian, a dancer and a brother, all with their own motives and secrets. Together, this unexpected mishmash of a team will travel across Paris and navigate its many wonders and its equally many dangers, as they search for this elusive artifact. 3. King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo (Book #1 in the Nikolai duology)

4. Dark of the West by Joanna Hathaway (Book #1 in the Glass Alliance series)

5. Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte

The nation of Quadara is divided into four quarters, each ruled by a different queen. Toria is the intellectual quarter, Ludia is the pleasure quarter, Archia is the agricultural quarter and Eonia is the quarter that favors technology. These four quadrants are united by a common central area known as the Concord. In this area lives the young thief Keralie Corrington, who operates under the tutelage of her mentor Mackiel, a prominent figure in the black market of Concord. When Keralie is tasked with intercepting important comm disks, things take a shocking turn when she watches the disks and sees the four queens of Quadara brutally murdered. 6. The Waking Forest by Alyssa Wees

Rhea: Rhea yearns to learn the secrets of the mysterious Waking Forest. This forest often appears to her as a mysterious mirage at the edge of her backyard, but whenever she tries to approach it, the forest vanishes.
